Escola Profissional de Moura (EPM) is once again participating in FITUR 2026 – the International Tourism Trade Fair, held in Madrid from 21 to 25 January, as part of the delegation representing the Municipality of Moura and the broader Alentejo region.
This year, Alentejo is attending with one of its largest delegations ever, in a concerted effort to promote the region to the Spanish market, with a focus on wine tourism, sustainability, and regional gastronomy.
EPM contributes to this initiative with a live culinary presentation led by its students, under the guidance of Chef José Carlos Lobito, offering visitors a taste of traditional Alentejo cuisine and showcasing the culinary heritage of southern Portugal.
“We have around 40 representatives at FITUR. Alentejo has never been so strongly represented in Madrid,” said José Santos, president of the Regional Tourism Entity, in a statement to Alentrium.pt. “The visit of the Spanish Royal Family to our stand is an honour for Portugal,” he added.
The participation of the school forms part of a broader strategy to promote regional identity, while providing students with real-world experience in international events, bridging education with the professional world of tourism and gastronomy.
