EDIA – Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infra-Estruturas do Alqueva received this Tuesday a new capital reinforcement from the State, in the amount of 5.06 million euros. This operation represents the third capital increase carried out in 2025, bringing the total public funds injected into the company this year to more than 14.5 million euros.
The new financing was formalized through the issuance of more than one million shares, each worth five euros, fully subscribed by the State. The operation, approved by unanimous resolution of EDIA’s governing bodies on October 31, was communicated to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) this Tuesday.
This reinforcement aims to ensure the execution of the company’s investment plan, responsible for managing the Alqueva water infrastructure, which serves an area of about 130 thousand hectares in the Alentejo.
The previous capital increases took place in February and August, with amounts of 4.9 and 4.5 million euros, respectively. Since its creation in 1995, EDIA has received more than one billion euros in capital increases, fully guaranteed by the Portuguese State.
